John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

         "The Revolving Door"

"I am puzzled and bewildered,by what I see taking place in today's church. There seems to be a 'Revolving Door" into which people come thru,  and just as quicky leave.

This is a very disturbing problem in the church that must be addressed in these last days. There is nothing more exciting, than to experience new people coming into the church and beginning to actively exercise their faith in God. The person entering into the church today, however, is alot different than believers in times past. Today's believer seems to satisfied with only a "feel good" moment or "goose-bumps" excitement. There more pursuit of entainment than relationship an fellowship.

It seems as though they are "moved" by the Spirit of God for the moment, but have no desire to stay with God. As soon as they get what they want from God , they are gone, in many cases, back to the life  they led before. I do believe, they know that the Lord is able to fix  anything their going thru, seeing that they have the faith enough to believe. The revolving door begins to revolve, and they are gone as quicly as they came, not to another church or ministry, but back to the same lifestyle.

It saddens me because, most of them think it is alrite to go to God for what they want and then turn their back on Him afterward. They dont feel they are  obligated or  have to give anything in return, that just going to church, is enough. They quickly make the statement that they've been to church, as if they are doing God a favor or service by showing up. The scripture says "what shall I render unto the Lord, for all His benefits unto me. It is question that is asked by some who is gratefully asking how what I give Him compare with what He's done for me and it is followed by the statement that "I will take the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord" therefore denoting a commitment to God.

When I think of the word render as David stated in Psalms 116:12, I think of how short we come of doing for God what He does for us everytime. There should at least be an attempt on our part to repay Him, by serving Him with all the is within us.

Everyone including sinners, desires that the Lord fix their issues and if you ask, everyone will tell you they want to be blessed, but few are willing to labor for God in return. This lack of the spirit of labor, along with other enemies of the church, has supported the "revolving door" mentality.

In fact it is the "in thing" because the church is not important in our society. The church for many reasons doesnt have as much influence in our society as before. People don't have time or think "it does'nt take all that", so the "revolving door" revolves opened and closed, only a few times a year.

It's no wonder that there only a few faithful people who are committed, these are people who seize the moment to be there no matter what, these are true worshippers, who are there to labor for the Kingdom. These are a sincere people who dont want to miss an opportunity to worship and be in the presence of the Lord, because they have or possess a sense of God waiting on them when they get there. This is a life style to be enjoyed and excited about, not a part-time venture. God is looking for laborers to continue advancing His Kingdom!!!
